P&C Book Club
Our state-of-the-art purpose built library was opened in 2011. The library is a welcoming place of literacy and learning containing over 5500 books with up to date research computers and comfy bean bags for storytime or a quiet read at lunchtime.
Libray displays change regularly to co-incide with current affairs (Eg. Anzac day, World Water Day) while the 'Author Corner' profiles a popular children's author and displays their books for loan.
New books are a priority for the school and are bought throughout the year to suit Kindy to Upper Primary. The library also receives generous book donations from school families and the local community. Many of the library books have been autographed by their author (Eg. Isobelle Carmody, Elaine Forrestal).
All of the books are catalogued using the 'Bookmark' system and are regularly reviewed and maintained to keep a hig quality selection for the enjoyment of all at Jarrahdale Primary School.
Children’s interest in literature is fostered by commercial book club programs. Each term children receive several illustrated catalogues of book titles suitable for their age group.
Parents are able to purchase selected material, at competitive prices, by returning the order page provided, to the school.
